THIS IS A RECREATIONAL AND SOCIAL LEAGUE: Urban Rec prides itself on bringing Sydney the only truly social, and fun sports leagues. If you are interested in playing competitively, or aggressively, this might not be the league for you. We are here to provide a fun, enjoyable, and social sports environment, where people who don't want to take themselves or the sport too seriously, are all welcome. Make sure this is you, before you register!

BECOMING A MEMBER: If you haven't signed up as an Urban Rec member online before, you will be required to fill out a membership form online and aknowlege our waiver, this is free. Then you can move onto the League or event registration. 

TEAM REGISTRATION: If you are signing up as a team, please write your team name in the notes section. You will also need to list out your selected team line up, and their email addresses. There should not be more than 10 players in your team list. Your team mates will all need to individually become Urban Rec Members (for free) before the first game.

TEAM PRE-REGO: We understand organising your mates and a team can be tricky. So we offer a pre-rego fee to secure your team spot while you organise to collect the money. This is a non refundable deposit, and the remainder of your rego fee's will be due before the first game. You can still choose your team name, colour, upload a photo, and allocate members.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION: We will provide the space in selected leagues for individual participants to register. Provided there are enough registrations and has a minimum of each gender registered to make the team viable, your team will be entered into the league (if not, then you will receive a full refund). Once you are registered, and the team has been formed, you will receive a welcome email introducing you to your team.

If you and a friend decide to sign up, and want to be connected in the same team, you must say this in the notes section of registration. For example write “connect me with Jane Thompson”.

TEAMS Five (5) players minimum will compete on a side; others will be available as substitutes. There must be a minimum of two (2) female or male players on the court/field when the game starts. We suggest as a team, you register at least three extra substitutes than is needed for a side. Singles teams will be given as many substitutes as possible.

​TIMES The games will be played between 6.15pm-9.30pm and the season will run for 10-12 weeks (depending on registrations). ​DURATION Each game will be scheduled to start on-time, if something happens the game may be slightly shortened. (Hopefully not!)+ Each game will be 40 minutes in duration with 20 minutes played in each half.+ There will be a 2 min break in between game play

​FAIRPLAY SYSTEM Each league night you will have a an Event Host onsite, but these guys are not official referees. Urban Rec is proud to be the only non-competitive league which practices fairplay, meaning you should be making your own calls on the game. The Event Hosts will be there to make the calls not made by individuals, keep time, and help guide the games within the game play rules. Any Urban Rec Staff have the final say on any issue that cannot be self resolved.

​UNIFORM/KIT Everyone should bring a light and a dark (black and white preference) t shirt for the game. Depending on what your opposition are wearing swap your colour. If your team to decide to organise your own shirts you are more than welcome at your own expense, get creative with it. Runners, or studs are advised. Please no metal studs.

​EQUIPMEN​T Urban Rec will supply you with the balls, and markings required for your game. Please feel free to help if you see the Urban Rec staff setting up, or packing away.

​TEAM WITHDRAWAL If a team does not turn up on the night then the game is won by its opposition. If a team withdraws from a competition, (does not turn up three times) they will be expelled from the league. All previous games played against this team will be nullified (win, lose or draw). No refunds will be paid to teams expelled or withdrawn from the competition.

​WET WEATHER If it has been raining check facebook, twitter, the website, and your text messages. You will find out one way or another. We try to scheduled in one or two extra weeks for weather games to be made up. (We will do our very best to make sure every team gets all their games)

SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS: If you are bringing a substitute player, they will be required to acknowledge Urban Rec's Terms and Conditions, become a member, and sign a waiver. If they are substituting in a singles team, they will be required to pay a $10 casual fee.

YOUR WELCOME EMAIL: One week before the league starts you will receive a “Welcome Email” which lists everything you need to know about starting and playing in the league, where to go, the schedule, and what to bring. Look out for this closer to the start date.
